Vicki Contavespi

Vicki Contavespi spent a dozen years as a reporter and writer at Forbes, where she wrote about telecom, mutual funds, the Forbes 400, and even wrestling – among many other diverse topics.  While at Forbes, she was nominated for the Loeb Award, business journalism's highest honor, for her cover story about CEO compensation. Vicki also worked for Nortel Networks, Corning, ASIS International and ICx Technologies, writing about telecom issues and security, respectively. She was the corporate spokesperson for Nortel, ICx and ASIS International, a security trade group with 35,000 members; she created ASIS’ PR department from scratch.

Her many areas of expertise include high technology, terrorism, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, the global supply chain, cargo security and CBRNE detection.

Vicki is the founder of MightyScribe, Inc., a media relations firm but also a “sources bureau” for national and trade media that works to connect reporters who cover high technology and security—homeland and otherwise—with experts who provide background, context and analysis. Vicki works closely with all of the security trade publications, and has placed clients in stories by, among others, the Associated Press, BusinessWeek, MSNBC, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, CNBC, CNN and USA Today.
